The team has been working very hard for our booth next weekend at the expo. We have met with Andre several times and some of the members have met with him outside of school to work on the turbine.

Thursday after school, the team + Ms. Putnam met with Andre to discuss what we should be prepared with for the exhibition. We also began gathering materials to review and showcase.

Friday we met with Ms. Putnam and went over materials we could display during the expo. We were surprised to see how many interesting things we had to display. We have our logbooks, scale drawings, scale models, price list, material list, etc.

Andre and Freddy met with us today. They helped us very, very much.

They told us about a showcase at the end of October where we could create a powerpoint and present our project to the government. We are very excited about this and have already begun working on the powerpoint. Unfortunately, not many of our members will be here at the end of October, since many will be going to Panama for the Model United Nations trip. We did, however, gain a couple of new students, like Louie and Miguel.

The proposal to sell during the breaks was accepted! We have begun selling this week and have sold a lot already.

We came up with other fundraising ideas, like a car wash or once a month selling ice cream scoops at school.

We need to think about contacting sponsors for the wind turbine, as well. We have jotted won a few potential sponsors and will continue to think about more throughout our next meetings.

Our goal is to have the wind turbine generate 10% of our electricity.

The Alternative Energy Club has been set up once again. This year it is not given as a class, but as an after-school club.

We have a new science teacher, called Mr. Hopkins, who is in charge of the club this year. The members this year consist of Sebastian, Oriana, Robin, and David. We hope to gain new members as the year goes by.

Our first meeting was simply to get things set up again and jot down ideas. We want to design our own T-Shirts like we did last year and want to fundraise money to buy the parts missing for the wind turbine.

Today in class we were told what was needed for the semester exams. The science kids are to take a multiple-choice test while the elective kids are to create a powerpoint where they are to describe in detail what they have learned, the problems they have encountered, and the solutions to those problems. They also have to include questions about the material covered and have to write about their wikis and what they learned from them. The science kids continued working on their finals while the elective kids worked on their projects. Oriana and Robin worked on the Facebook page while Crystal and Keith worked on the powerpoint. Next class wioll be our last and even though the wind turbine is not completely up and running, we have gathered all the parts and hope to see it working next year!
